Our haloes warn us,/from time to time, /of faraway places in cold arms/as we watch, thickening,/second guess our responses./evening out between us/hide bone and muscle/grasping strands in moments in empire as captives/Reach of the bridge/past aging trestles pigeons roost and coo/ Kneel on the hillock/with a hint of daylight/ Lodged in tree stumps: discovered joy
