I Sell Whispers

Since I can’t defeat you art/of curing disease by contracting diseases/I will join you/ reckless at the junction./ I watch you fall in the front row/ where you abide and conquer./I keep up the pace slow, /surefooted like a mule,/wait on you to release your charms/they become mementos/only brooked by enemies/ I know them as signal figures from books./ I dedicate an offer,/ a song you can believe/it’s about a deft raid/ on coffers of Old Believers/deft as the switch on a mules’ back./Can I walk from you?/I knew you better,/when you were a god,/you waited, to say the same thing as last night/it came in streams,/fluid notes in frames of justice.
