Sleepy

Meaning to say I’m shirtless, embracing myself tenderly,/ locked in loose brawn/ once more learning lessons taught me/ from another moon/lenses focus, sharpening,/on a brilliant dusk/I seek out your performance/ of quiet death at day’s end /so restless among trees lacking spit or laughter ,/gauging me,/ in the mirror’s yellow frame/idle and pensive./So close was I to a cat in that frame/eyes gouging mine,/ in the restlessness of cupidity /near wrath fueled by the purring clock./ I’m not after less than I have,/ ten fingers the room I rent /distorted by angle and fear of cats. /The end of sunshine in storm/locks broken,/to wander again someday,/ search for fish in water,/hear the bells ring
